2007 Community Career Expo
During a press conference held on Monday, May 7, Mayor Will Wynn spoke about the growing job market in Austin and the importance of Community Career Expo, the largest job fair in Central Texas. Also present to share brief comments was Jerry Davis, CEO and President of Goodwill, Retta Kelly, Community Development Director for the Austin American-Statesman, Ashton Cumberbatch, Vice President of Community Relations for Seton Family Hospitals and Thomas McLafferty, a job seeker. The press conference was held two days prior to the event in order to gain exposure and spread awareness on the Community Career Expo. Davis mentioned the inclusiveness of the job fair, and after the formal presentation, the media was invited to view demos of assistive technology software available to assist job seekers.
