Weigh Good Donation Drive
1 weekend = 725,000 lbs. = 42 jobs
From April 17-April 20, Goodwill held their annual, Weigh Good, donation drive. The event was a tremendous success; we went beyond our 725,000 pound goal and received 790,499 pounds of donations from the community.
The donations that we accepted this weekend will be sold in our retail stores and bookstores. It is estimated that the funds raised from the sale of Weigh Good donations will enable Goodwill to help 42 Central Texans with a disability or disadvantaging condition find employment. Through our many workforce development programs, these individuals will receive the services necessary for them to be successful in today’s workplace.
On top of the many donations that were accepted, there were musicians at some of our stores through out the weekend. We want to thank Grace Pettis, Dave Madden, David Newbould and Jade Day for lending us their talents.
Also, three lucky individuals will be drawn as winners of our three prizes: $100 Goodwill gift certificate, $200 Goodwill gift certificate, and two round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines.
