• Community Career Expo - May 1 - Goodwill Community Center
  Goodwill Industries of Central Texas together with The Austin Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities (AMCPD), the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), and Workforce Solutions – Capital Area will host the Fourteenth Annual Community Career Expo on May 1 from 9 AM – 3 PM at the Goodwill Community Center on 1015 Norwood Park Blvd. This event is free and open to the public.
  
  Employers will be on-site offering diverse job opportunities and local educational organizations will present training and continuing education programs. Goodwill employment specialists will also be conducting classes the day of the event designed to build job search skills, such as networking, image consulting and interviewing skills. Various support accommodations including Spanish translators, sign language interpreters, sighted guides, and the Goodwill Technology Center for on-site applications will also be available.
  
  Last year’s event brought together more than 1,000 job seekers and over 50 employers and educators. Interested participants may visit the 14th annual Career Expo page for more information and to pre-register.

• Annual Hall of Honor – May 30 – The Four Seasons Hotel
  Goodwill of Central Texas is hosting the 17th Annual Hall of Honor with a luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel. This year’s event is a tribute to three individuals and one business who exemplify the mission of “generating lifelong connections to work” through utilization and/or support of our employment programs and services.



• Dripping Springs Grand Opening Celebration, June 2
  Celebrate the Grand Opening of our new store in Dripping Springs at 100 Commons Drive with food, family-friendly activities, and giveaways all day long. The first 150 customers through the doors will also receive a free gift.



• Wells Branch Grand Opening Celebration, June 7
  We invite you to join us for a celebration at the Grand Opening of our new Wells Branch Store at 1420 Wells Branch Parkway. Come early and enjoy activities for the kids, refreshments, and other giveaways throughout the day. The first 150 customers through the doors will also receive a free gift.

• Macfarlane Grand Re-Opening Celebration, July 14
  Celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of our store at 8965 North Research Blvd. with food, family-friendly activities, and giveaways all day long. The first 100 customers through the doors will also receive a free gift.



• Far West Grand Opening Celebration, August 11
  Celebrate the Grand Opening of our new store at 3910 Far West Blvd. with food, family-friendly activities, and giveaways all day long. The first 150 customers through the doors will also receive a free gift.

September / October

• Cinema Touching Disability Film Festival 2012 – September 29
  Goodwill Community Center
  Please join us for a movie screening as part of the Cinema Touching Disability Film Festival on September 29. This event is free and open to the public.



• Ghoulwill Ball - October 26 - The W Austin
  Celebrate the Halloween season with Austin’s premiere Halloween costume party. On Friday, October 26th join us at The W Austin for live music, frighteningly delectable food and drink, a costume contest, and a maddeningly fabulous silent auction. More information and tickets will be available soon!
