Green Works Turns Old Computers into Green Backs for Employment Programs

GreenWorks Volunteer Over the past month, a number of large volunteer groups from IBM and Dell have visited the Goodwill Community Center and they’ve been ready to work hard!

These teams participated in our Green Works volunteer program, which focuses on the disassembly and safe recycling of computer electronics, to prevent it from ending up in landfill.

So far, the volunteers have processed more than 15 pallets of e-waste, averaging $2,500 per group in revenue to fund Goodwill’s mission.

Thanks to our terrific Dell and IBM volunteers!

Participating in Green Works is a fun and productive way to better understand the end-of-life process for the electronics we’ve all become so dependant upon.
