Job Source Celebrates Achievements with Housing Authority of the City of Austin

Goodwill’s Job Source Program recently celebrated client achievements at the Housing Authority of the City of Austin’s annual Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) banquet. Multiple Job Source clients were recognized for accomplishments ranging from parenting class completion to fulfilling such Job Source goals as finding and retaining full-time employment.

Speakers honoring these clients included Congressman Lloyd Doggett and Travis County Court Judge Orlinda Naranjo. Judge Naranjo’s keynote speech movingly identified commonalities between her struggles and successes, and those of the FSS members being recognized.

Job Source is approaching the one-year anniversary of its latest partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Austin. The focus of the partnership is to offer pre-employment training and placement services for residents living at Housing Authority locations throughout the city of Austin. The Job Source Program expects to expand these services in 2007, furthering Goodwill’s mission to offer employment services to individuals with barriers to employment.
