Goodwill and Shoes for Austin Provide Steady Ground for Meeting Goals

Shoes for Austin, a valuable Goodwill partner, is an Austin nonprofit organization that gives new athletic shoes and socks to youth and adults who are striving to improve their lives.

Through Shoes for Austin, over one hundred Goodwill clients and other youth have been awarded new pairs of shoes for meeting their employment or educational goals. Sherwin Sanders, Goodwill support employment specialist, said, “One consumer was very excited to receive his shoes as an incentive for meeting his employment goal. He told me the shoes were great quality and really helped the him on the job.” New shoes were not something that he would have been able to afford on his own, but thanks to Shoes for Austin, he is now able to be comfortable standing, walking, and WORKING!”
