Community Alert: "Goodwill Lotto" Scam
April, 2007 - Goodwill Industries of Central Texas has been made aware of a letter, which is likely a scam, that tells the recipient he or she has won a substantial amount of lottery money. Neither Goodwill Industries International nor the local Goodwill agency serving our community is responsible for this suspicious “sweepstakes,” called the “Goodwill Lotto.”
We wish to protect the trust community members have in Goodwill Industries. Please treat the lottery letter as a possible fraud and identity theft operation. Do not get involved with the alleged scam in any way as it has the potential to be extremely dangerous.
