Rogelio Gomez
Rising Star, Job Source Program (April 2009)
Rogelio Gomez began the Job Source program in September of 2008 and he showed an outstanding commitment to the program from day one. After graduating from high school earlier in the year, Rogelio knew that he wanted to continue his education along with gaining experience in the workforce. Within the first two weeks of being in the Job Source program, Rogelio took advantage of multiple trainings, including application, interview, and resume skills training. Putting these skills to use, he hit the ground running and was able to find employment in just over one month. He works in the food service industry where he does prep work and cashiers at a local sandwich shop. In addition to working for over six months, he has also started taking classes at Austin Community College.
As a result of Rogelio’s diligence and hard work, he has successfully maintained employment while working toward his educational goals with help from Goodwill.
