The WIA program is funded through WorkSource—Greater Austin Area Workforce Board and is provided through a partnership with local youth service providers. WIA services are designed to help youth stay in school, return to school, prepare for, find and keep employment.
Services include:
- Career Counseling
- Tutorial Assistance
- GED Preparation
- Job Readiness Training
- Job Placement Assistance
- Paid and Unpaid Work Experiences
- Summer Youth Employment
The Summer Youth Employment program provides five-week paid internship opportunities with various employers throughout the community. Through this program, at-risk teens gain work experience, build their resumes, explore different careers and earn money for college.
